Suffolks Haven is an off grid cabin on a family farm in Suffolk, ten minutes from the heritage coast and two hours from London. It sits in its own private corner of the paddock with a secluded deck and lawn, screened from the rest of the farm. The centrepiece is a woodfired hot tub available around the clock, alongside a king bed with Eve memory foam mattress, a properly plumbed rainfall shower, and a wood burner. There is no TV and no wifi, which is deliberate rather than an omission.
The farm itself adds character: pedigree pigs, horses, and guinea fowl roam the grass margins, and wild deer and foxes appear on evening walks. The Suffolk coast at Aldeburgh and Southwold is ten miles away. A 35 minute walk through the countryside reaches the nearest pub, with more options by bike or car. The off grid format here is well executed because the essentials (hot water, a proper bathroom, a comfortable mattress) are all present. What is absent is only the noise.
We love that the off grid commitment here does not come at the expense of comfort. A woodfired hot tub, rainfall shower, and Eve mattress prove that disconnection does not mean deprivation.
