About this stay

Bluehill Cabin is a repurposed pig shed in the Carmarthenshire hills, converted into a compact rural bolthole with valley views across the Ceredigion hills. A telescope is provided for stargazing or scanning the Welsh landscape, and a fire pit and BBQ sit outside for evening use. The host is a slate artist whose recycled work is displayed inside the cabin, with more available to view in the on-site studio.

Cardigan Bay, Aberaeron, and New Quay are all within 30 minutes, putting dolphin spotting and water sports within easy reach. The cabin sits at the foot of tall pine trees on a working farm where horses, free-range chickens, and a Labrador roam. Wifi is available in the studio and office rather than the cabin itself, which reinforces the off-grid character. No EV charging on site.

What we love

The pig shed origin story gives it genuine character, and the host's slate art throughout the cabin adds a personal, handmade quality that mass-produced glamping pods cannot replicate.
