About this stay

Porthole Log Cabin sits among trees near the Somerset coastline, elevated enough to catch constantly changing views of the tides and surrounding hills. The cabin is built to a high spec, with a king bed, roll top bath, separate walk in shower, and bifold doors that open the full width of the living space to the view. A spiral staircase leads to a snug reading area at the top, with a Velux window framing the treetops.

The large elevated decking outside is divided into three seating zones, which gives the outdoor space a sense of variety that single deck setups lack. The South West Coast Path runs through the beach below, accessible from the cabin. The sound of waves reaches the property, providing a natural backdrop without needing to be directly on the shore. It manages to feel coastal and wooded simultaneously.

What we love

The spiral staircase up to the treetop snug is a brilliant use of vertical space, and it gives the cabin a second mood entirely separate from the main living area.
